Doomben
Doomben is not a suburb in its own right, but is a part of the suburb of Ascot in Brisbane. Other nearby suburbs include Hamilton, Clayfield, Hendra and Eagle Farm.
The name Doomben comes from the local racetrack, the Brisbane Turf Club.
Whist Doomben is not strictly a suburb, it does have its own train station, which is a lot more than can be said for many other Brisbane suburbs!
Doomben Real Estate
If you're looking for real estate in the Doomben area, best to search for Ascot.
Recently there has been talk that the Doomben track will be closed after the BTC merges with the nearby QTC (Queensland Turf Club) at the Eagle Farm track. If this goes ahead, it is likely that the Doomben track will be carved up into parcels of land for residential use.
Will the new area still be known as Ascot, or will they take the opportunity to rename the area Doomben? Time will tell...
